What if a podcast didn’t just tell a story—but helped people find their own?
What if it sparked hope, action, and the courage to speak up?
Freedom Needs a Soundtrack is a narrative podcast and cultural campaign rooted in the power of artists, activists, and everyday people coming together to make change. Launching June 15, 2026—on the 30th anniversary of the first Tibetan Freedom Concert—season one follows the story of Erin Potts as she evolves from teenage music fan to human rights organizer to co-founder of the largest concerts for freedom in history.
Through interviews with iconic artists and organizers, deeply personal narratives, soundscapes, and music, Erin and co-host Deyden Tethong weave together what happened before, during, and after the concerts. Along the way, they highlight the cultural collaborations and nonviolent resistance that lit up a global stage and still resonate today. Like the concerts that inspired it, Freedom Needs a Soundtrack isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about engagement, and building a new blueprint for what’s possible.
