Remember when music fueled moments of change?

Thirty years ago the Tibetan Freedom Concerts filled Golden Gate Park and the airwaves with music, action for Tibet and a call for nonviolence. More than 100,000 people came for the music and left believing they could help create change.

We need that kind of moment again, for Tibet, for the US and for all of us.

Large crowd gathered in front of a stage at a concert or event, with banners reading 'Tibetan Freedom Concert' and 'Free Tibet' visible.

Freedom Needs a Soundtrack tells inspiring stories of the music, moments, and movements that make change in the world—and how we keep it going. We are launching our first season on June 15, 2026 for the 30th anniversary of the first Tibetan Freedom Concert. It will feature, amongst other things, a 6-episode audio documentary that traces the full arc of those concerts, from what was happening inside Tibet and our early failures to the creative breakthroughs, the people who built the movement and what is happening today.

Join us backstage to hear the stories, listen to the soundtracks, and take the actions that help create a more nonviolent, free and just world for all.
